The tree's roots look like hands. Nice work- this reminds me of old-style fairytale illustrations...

An artistic question, if I may. What made you decide to joint the legs of the being at the bottom in such a way? I know it's not an anatomical overlook, as your knowledge of anatomy is quite thorough. (As evidenced in your book on drawing/painting the undead.) So in your opinion, what artistic merit was there in shaping that particular character's body as such?

That's not to say it was a bad idea, of course. It definitely works. I'm just looking for some insight as to WHY it works.

I'm really into this motif of a double wrist or double ankle. It'll show up in my art more in the future. If you look at the Homonculus designs from the movie you can see they also have these double wrists/double ankles.

I see. I haven't had a chance to see the film, though I've heard good things.

So I've heard. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that Guillermo Del Toro was involved, which to me greatly helps a film's credibility. I think I'll see the movie, then read the book.

I instantly recognized your art in that movie. That was the only reason I watched it..

I really enjoyed this movie, and the art that sprung from it. If I didn't plan on sleeping again, I wouldn't mind displaying some of these pieces in my home.
