Havelock Oliphant Esq. by Keithwormwood Havelock Oliphant Esq. by Keithwormwood
Responsible for supplying the majority of opium to both camps of the Crimean War, this member of the landed gentry is managing to fritter away the remains of his estate despite the substantial income gleaned from his illicit activities. Charming and well mannered despite being severely histrionic, Mr. Oliphant fluidly conducts affairs throughout the world under the comforting umbrella of Pax Brittanica. Being an 8th degree mason, he also enjoys exceptional privileges ranging from skirting inspections on imports to being provided an audience with many invaluable functionaries in the Empire. An excellent rider, Mr. Oliphant enjoys fox hunting on his family estate when at home.

This is the oily kind of gentleman who you imagine could slip inside the walls and listen in on the conversations on both sides. And then he supplies opium to each of the conversationalists.

pinup-ghoul arrives late to the best parties.

I've been a fan of your work for a long time and didn't know you had a devart account until recently! I am a frequent visitor to your website and am always sending links to friends of mine saying "Check this out! This guy's stuff is absolutely amazing!"

I think this is my favorite character design of yours, not because it's wonderfully executed (the hands are so perfect, my favorite part of the drawing), but because he's also totally my type. Rowr. You just rock up and down, thought I'd drop you a line from a long time fan.

Did you drew the hunter Herne for the book fantasy encyclopedia?

I guess so, because the drawing in this book was exactly the same style...

All your drawings are really WONDERFUL!!!

To K. Wormwood Esq. : Greetings…

Ah I know the fellow well, a most disreputable bounder, utter cad & despicable rotter who, thanks to his social standing stands beyond the reproach & reproval he so justly deserves. Still, I think we can perhaps overlook to some degree his reprehensible character : partly because the laudanum derived from his opium complements that spirit distilled from Wormwood so favourably… but cheifly because of his dapper taste in tophats.
;)

Excellent work I think, boldly realised but with various subtle details (such as the use of masonic symbols).

*tips hat*

As I've scanned through your entire gallery, and this is your latest, I can say I'm thoroughly impressed and enjoy all you're work. This one is a great example of how you unite the colors to work well and make something, such as a man standing there, interesting.

all this is so sad. opium, nuked mooses, carnivorous plants who digest individuals so sickening that i almost like them for it. you've designed a tortured world. it is of course appealing as it is so well drawn, but it is dark and bitter and tragic. it reminds me very much of the world shown in "Szninkiel" (or "Chninkel" in french, i have no idea whather it's been translated to english) by Van Hamme and Rosiński, which is one of the best graphic novels ever written and drawn, in my opinion. Still, despite me being more pro - farse than pro - tragedy i salute thy talent.

The choice of color on this is awesome. The jacket and the pistol in the sleeve are a very nice touch as well. I'm confused as to what he is holding however; looks like a cross between a cane and a hookah.

It's a hunting whip, and it's not used on the horse, but has a hook at the end to use in opening and shutting gates without dismounting, as well as a long leather strip to keep the hounds from coming near the horse's legs.
